Standard Cron jobs

  1. Set list of all cron jobs needed for apps
  2. Handle them as much as possible via the app like what already exists in /etc/cron.d
/etc/cron.d/0hourly
/etc/cron.d/app-base
/etc/cron.d/app-configuration-backup
/etc/cron.d/app-date
/etc/cron.d/app-disk-usage
/etc/cron.d/app-events
/etc/cron.d/app-firewall-dynamic
/etc/cron.d/app-flexshare
/etc/cron.d/app-lets-encrypt
/etc/cron.d/app-registration
/etc/cron.d/app-resource-report
/etc/cron.d/app-software-repository
/etc/cron.d/app-software-updates
/etc/cron.d/app-software-updates-cache
/etc/cron.d/app-syncthing
/etc/cron.d/app-two-factor-auth
/etc/cron.d/sysstat

Tiki

It is very common to set https://doc.tiki.org/Cron-Job-to-Rebuild-Search-Index on a daily cron job

We should set in regular cron, or add to /etc/cron.daily

Seems to me better that all manually installed cron jobs should be listed when doing crontab -l
