A Syncthing installer for Virtualmin.
To install syncthing on virtualmin require few step to follow:
- On to virtualmin tab , check for Manage Web Apps on the list menu, and click on it to access the page.
- By default, it will open available scripts and list all web app installation script, look for syncthing on the list and click on the V icon to open the installation page.
- A form will be proposed to enter the username and password, those information's will be required to allow you to connect to syncthing app, and they are mandatory in other case the installation process will failed. Used a string password for security purposes.
- After installation finished, a link to access syncthing is provided. Use the username and password registered to start your session.
How to update
By default, the installation script installs the latest version of syncthing , in case you need to update to the last version:
- Switch to Webmin tab, on the left menu then go to System menu and on the sub-menu list click on Software Package Updates link to open Software Package Updates page.
- Once Software Package Updates page open, by default it will open on Package Updates tab and the default display state will be on Only updates, select installed. when ready, search for syncthing. From the result, the actual version installed will display.
But in some case it will notify that there is a new version in case we need to update to the latest one
- Select syncthing from result and click on Update selected packages. It will open a new page that provide the package detail about the current version and the new version, then click on Install Now.
When installation process finished, click on _ Return to package list button to back to A Software Package Updates __ and voila! the update has been done.
